Popular Resistance
Beschreibung (Aug 2011)
In Palästina versteht sich 'Popular Resistance' als ein von
der Mehrheit des Volkes getragener, unbewaffneter Widerstand.
'Popular Resistance' kann in etwa als 'Ziviler Widerstand' - als Widerstand durch unbewaffnete Zivlisten - übersetzt werden, jedoch nicht als 'gewaltloser Widerstand'. Die Demonstranten in Bil'in etwa, die mit Steinen nach den sie mit Tränengasgranaten beschiessenden Soldaten werfen - sind Teil der 'Popular Resistance', da Steine keine gemeinhin tödlichen Waffen sind.
'Popular Resistance' kann mannigfaltige Formen annehmen: Demonstrationen, Blockaden und Streiks aber auch die Form von Literatur oder Theaterfestivals. 'Popular Resistance'-Vertreter sind auch an den Kampagnen gegen die Mauer und an der BDS-Kampagne beteiligt.
Zu den heute bekanntesten Vertretern von 'Popular Resistance' gehören die 'Popular Resistance Committees' von Bil'in, Nilin, Nabi Saleh, Al-Walaja und Beit Ommar: Dörfern in Zone 'C', die besonders stark von der Mauer oder dem Siedlungsausbau betroffen sind.
Tatsächlich hat 'Popular Resistance' in Palästina eine lange Tradition, wie man bei in Palestinian Resistance and Nonviolence (A. Rigby) oder in Popular Resistance in Palestine (M. Qumsiyeh) nachlesen kann, die beide zum Buchbestand des IPK gehören.
